ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
In order to be admitted to our Master Programs, the following requirements are necessary:
- Appropriate qualification for university entrance: Bachelor, Master, Diplom-FH, Diplom Univ., Diplom BA, Maîtrise, D.E.A. etc.; The first degree should be in the field of engineering, natural sciences, information science or economics. In exceptional circumstances other degrees may be accepted.
- Job Experience: At least three years of work or practical experience in the specific field of the course. References are needed as evidence of this.
- TOEFL Test: Evidence of an adequate knowledge of the English language is required, this is normally in the form of TOEFL (Test Of English as a Foreign Language). This is not relevant for native speakers.
- TOEIC Test: The Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) measures the proficiency of non-native English-speaking examinees to use English in everyday workplace activities. The TOEIC test is a two-hour multiple-choice test divided into listening and reading comprehension.
- HECTOR Program Director Interview: In a 30-minute interview you are ask to demonstrate your theoretical know-how and professional experience in the field. This interview will either take place at the HECTOR School in Karlsruhe, or through a telefone interview for international applicants.
- HECTOR School Interview: A 45-minute interview follows immediately, you are asked to present your motivation to follow this master program.
- OPTIONAL: A GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test) or GRE (Graduate Record Examination) test is accepted and depends on the first degree. For the GMAT at least 600 points are required and for the GRE the student must have scored 4.5 in "analytical writing" and 600 points in both the "quantitative" and "analytical writing" sections.

2. Application Check at the Admission Office
As soon as your application arrives, a confirmation is send out. Your
documents will then be checked at the Admission Office and if
approved you will receive suggestions for interview appointments.
3. HECTOR School Interviews
A 30-minute interview will be held at the HECTOR School or via telefone
with the program director of the Master Program you applied for.
After a positive evaluation a second 30-minute interview will be held at the
HECTOR School or via telefone regarding your motivation and
possible further development.
4. Admission
Based on your application documents and the HECTOR School Interviews the
Admission Commitee decides according to the admission regulations via an
internal ranking of the applicants. You receive a status report confirming your
successful application immediately after the meeting of the Admission
Committee.
